Backyard Tavern & Chophouse
David and Judi Coker met in Austin, Texas in 1978. They were working at the Texas Tumbleweed, a magnificent steak restaurant in the hills of Austin. Here they found a love for the business, especially the teamwork and family atmospher that it takes to run a successul restaurant. They dreamed of owning their own someday.
As their family grew (Melissa 27, Chris 24) David perfected his skills as an operator, managing several Olive Gardens owned by the General Mills Corporation. He took this knowledge and opened a Deli in an office building in 1991. Along with Judi and the kids they ran a successful business until they closed in 1995.
After a few years of searching they found the property on Grisby Rd. and pursued their dream of owning their own full service restaurant motivated by great food in a casual, beautiful setting. They named it Grsiby Grill and have been opened for 8 years. Judi and David run the business along with their son Chris and many loyal employees.
